Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use govern your use of the ManaPal app and of this website, provided by AlbosApps ("we", "us"). By downloading or using ManaPal you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies. If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA prevails to the extent required by Apple.

2. License to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ManaPal on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store usage rules.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it;
use the app or its AI features to break the law, infringe others' rights or generate harmful content;
try to get around Mana costs, usage limits or security measures, or interfere with our servers;
use automated means to access the app or its services.

4. Mana, ManaPal Pro and purchases

Mana is ManaPal's in-app currency for AI features. Mana packs are consumable in-app purchases. Mana doesn't expire, has no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged for money and can only be used inside ManaPal. Every AI action shows its Mana cost before it starts; if an action fails, the Mana is returned to your balance.

Subscriptions

ManaPal Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription, available with weekly or yearly billing. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings (on iPhone or iPad: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
When a free trial is offered (for example on the yearly plan), any unused part of the trial ends when you buy a subscription. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and is charged automatically.
Purchases, free trials and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. AI features and information in the app

Mote's answers are generated by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete or wrong. Check important rules questions against the official rules and your playgroup. Card prices and collection values are estimates based on market data and may differ from what you can actually buy or sell a card for; they are not financial advice.

6. Privacy and usage statistics

Our Privacy Policy explains what data ManaPal handles and why. Usage statistics are optional and off by default. If you turn on "Help us improve ManaPal", you agree that usage data is sent to Google Analytics for Firebase as described in the Privacy Policy. You can turn it off at any time in Settings › Privacy, and you don't need it to use any feature of the app.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, the ManaPal name and logo and the Mote character belong to AlbosApps. Content you create (decks, notes, game records) remains yours.

ManaPal is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. Not approved/endorsed by Wizards. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. ©Wizards of the Coast LLC. Magic: The Gathering and the card names, texts and images belong to Wizards of the Coast. Card data and images are provided by Scryfall. Mana and set symbols in the app use the Mana and Keyrune fonts by Andrew Gioia (SIL Open Font License 1.1).

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

ManaPal is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or that its information (including prices, card data and AI answers) is accurate or complete. To the extent permitted by law, AlbosApps is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or trades arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

9. Termination

You can stop using ManaPal at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your access to online features (such as AI features) if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. Sections 4, 5, 7, 8 and 11 survive termination where applicable.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using ManaPal after a change, you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

[GOVERNING LAW AND COMPETENT COURTS: to be completed by the developer.] This does not take away the protection you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
